Our office values current & recommended preventive medical care.

Cervical Cancer Screening

Our practice encourages regular cervical cancer screening for the prevention and early detection of cervical cancer. We recognize and follow the most recent Risk-Based Management Guidelines established by the American Society of Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology (ASCCP) for abnormal cervical cancer screening tests.

Vaccinations

Vaccinations are a critical component of preventative and well woman care.

  • Influenza Vaccination
    • We recommend that all women, especially those women that are currently pregnant or breastfeeding, receive the flu vaccine every year.

  • Pertussis 'Whooping Cough' Vaccination
    • All pregnant individuals should receive vaccination against pertussis, or more commonly called “whooping cough”, in every pregnancy at the start of the third trimester.

  • Covid-19 Vaccination
    • Additionally, following the recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ACOG), we strongly recommend that all women, including those that are pregnant, breastfeeding, or considering becoming pregnant, receive COVID-19 vaccination and booster vaccination if eligible.

Sexually Transmitted Disease Screenings

STD screenings are recommended annually for women under the age of 25. Patients can request testing for screening, or for exposure at any time.

Mammography

Annual Mammograms start at 40. If you have family history, screenings will start sooner. Please feel free to call the office to discuss your specific mammography needs.

Colon Cancer Screening

Colon cancer screening is recommended for all individuals beginning at age 45, or younger if you have specific risk factors. Our office offers Cologuard for those 45 years or older, who are at average risk for colon cancer. Please talk to your provider if you have any questions.
